Main subject
Artistic-practical exam
Duration: 45 minutes- two pieces of different styles, performed with piano (in exceptional cases with a different solo instrument)
- opera scene of own choice, performed from the piano reduction (by singing and playing)
- performance of a folk song or Lied in German of your choice
- sight-reading of an easy piano reduction
- score reading for pianists of simple orchestral works (total time approx. 30 minutes)
Practical conducting part
- Short rehearsal (5-10 minutes) with an ensemble or the university orchestra with a work to be announced at the time of admission.
Level of difficulty: middle Haydn symphony, early romantic orchestral work or a work with simple metre changes
Piano solo performance as part of the main subject examination
Ear training
Written and oral examination; examination time 35 minutes
Music theory
Written and oral examination; examination time 35 minutes
