Cellist Hannah von Glasow (class of Prof. Markus Wagner) has won the newly created Academy position with the Augsburg Philharmonic Orchestra. Congratulations!

Hannah von Glasow was born in 1999 in Schwandorf, Germany. She received her first cello lessons at the age of seven at the Schwandorf Music School and transferred to the Regensburg University of Catholic Church Music in 2011 for her junior studies in the class of Wolfgang Nüßlein. This was followed by a year of private lessons with Tomasz Skweres (principal cellist of the Regensburg Theatre). In October 2018, she began her bachelor's degree in artistic pedagogy at the Nuremberg University of Music in the class of Prof Markus Wagner and graduated in summer 2023. Since autumn 2023, she has been studying for an artistic bachelor's degree, also in the class of Prof. Markus Wagner.
Hannah von Glasow was awarded first place in the Nuremberg University of Music's Music Pedagogy Awards in the summer semester last year for her outstanding achievements in the Artistic Pedagogy Bachelor's programme. Earlier this year, she won third prize with her piano trio in the Chamber Music Competition of the Nuremberg Mozart Society.
At the beginning of this year, she also won an internship with the Bad Reichenhall Philharmonic Orchestra through the Bavarian Orchestra Academy.
Further musical inspiration came from master classes with the Belgian Cello Society, the Cologne Piano Trio, Prof Gerhard Schulz, Prof Ian Fountain and Prof Sheila Arnold.
