David Liebster grew up in Heroldsberg, where he played in the Four Castles Orchestra and the trombone choir. After attending the Musikgymnasium in Nuremberg, where he studied trumpet with Gerald Uhlmann, he joined the Junge Fürther Streichhölzer. After graduating from high school, he attended the BfSM Sulzbach-Rosenberg (Norbert Lodes) and is currently studying at the NUM Nuremberg with Prof. Christoph Braun.
During his studies he was awarded the talent prize of the Fürth Theatre Association and the chamber music prize of the Mozart Association Nuremberg. Temporary work and internships have taken him to the Bad Reichenhall Philharmonic, the Coburg Philharmonic, the Nuremberg State Philharmonic, the Augsburg Philharmonic and the Hof Symphony Orchestra.
He has taken part in master classes with Klaus Schuhwerk, Wolfgang Guggenberger, Kristian Steenstrup, Friedemann Immer (baroque trumpet), Laura Vukobratović and Matthias Kowalczyk. Since 1 February 2025, he has had a temporary contract with the Bad Reichenhall Philharmonic Orchestra as principal trumpet with a commitment to play 2nd trumpet.
