Violinist Yunfei Bai was born in China in 1993. He began his studies in 2004 with Prof Tan Liwei at the affiliated primary school of the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing and completed his Bachelor's degree at the Central Conservatory of Music Beijing in 2016.
In 2018, he continued his training with Pierre Amoyal at the Mozarteum Salzburg in the Master's programme. From 2020, he studied in the Master Class with Prof Daniel Gaede at the Nuremberg University of Music and completed his studies in summer 2023.
From 2020 to 2023, Yunfei Bai was an assistant in Prof Daniel Gaede's violin class at the Nuremberg University of Music. He attended masterclasses with Ivry Gitlis, Augustin Dumay, Boris Kuschnir, Schlomo Mintz, Midori Goto and Ilja Kaler, among others.
Yunfei Bai has already played as concertmaster with several orchestras: from 2013 to 2016 he was 1st concertmaster of the China Youth Orchestra, in 2015 2nd concertmaster under the direction of Valery Gergiev with the Marinsky Theatre Symphony Orchestra/China Youth Symphony, in 2016 1st concertmaster with the Zhejiang International Music Festival Orchestra, in 2016-2018 1st concertmaster of the China Baroque Strings Orchestra, in 2017-2019 1st concertmaster of the China EOS Symphony Orchestra. In September 2023 he will take up his position as 1st concertmaster of the "Neubrandenburger Philharmonie". He has performed as a soloist with the China Inner Mongolia Symphony Orchestra, the China Youth Symphony Orchestra and the Hof Symphony Orchestra. Since September 2023, he has held the position of 1st concertmaster (temporary contract) at the Neubrandenburg Philharmonic Orchestra.
