Prof Gerard Carruthers, Francis Hutcheson Professor of Scottish Literature at the University of Glasgow, was a guest on the Scotland in Music course with singers from our University and gave tips on how to achieve the perfect Scottish pronunciation of the Beethoven Sonata.gs.

He was in Nuremberg to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the city partnership between Glasgow and Nuremberg, which culminated in the traditional Burns Supper on 11 January.

To mark the degree of the course with music by Beethoven, Boyle and Donizetti, a lunchtime concert will be held in St Martha's Church on Wednesday 15 January at 12 noon, also in cooperation with the Nuremberg Office for International Relations.
