News University Resolution for respect at Bavarian universities and against discrimination, racism and anti-Semitism

In light of the current political situation in the Middle East, the Bavarian university family declares that discrimination, racism and anti-Semitism in any form have no place at universities.

Universities are places of open discussion and dialogue. They fulfil their responsibility to provide, wherever possible, a broad academic and artistic space for discourse. Through appropriate standards and rules of procedure, they also guarantee the exchange of socially controversial issues and opinions.

Universities are in a position to distinguish between scholarly discussions and those that fall outside the framework of the law and the constitution, and to respond appropriately.

Universities provide no space or stage for unconstitutional or criminal acts, violence of any kind, discrimination, racism or anti-Semitism. On the contrary, they take active steps to prevent them so that all members of the university community can feel safe on campus.

We want this to remain the case and will continue to work to ensure that universities in Bavaria are safe places for learning, research and open discussion for all members of the university community.

Use the official events and channels to keep the dialogue going.
