Maarja Helen Oserov began her violin studies in Estonia at the age of 5.
She studied in Switzerland at the Haute Ecole de Musique de Lausanne with Prof. Pavel Vernikov and at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre with Prof. Mare Teearu. She completed her Master's degree at the Hochschule für Musik Saar in the violin class of David Grimal.
She is currently studying for a Master's degree in contemporary music at the NUM in Nuremberg with Prof. Daniel Gaede.
Maarja has won several prizes at competitions, including 2nd prize at the London Classical Music Competition, the Estonian National Competition-Festival for Strings and 1st prize at the Estonian National String Competition and 1st prize at the Concorso Musicale Europeo Citta di Filadelfia "Paolo Serrao" in 2014.
Maarja has participated in many masterclasses with Leonidas Kavakos, Thomas Brandis, Pavel Berman, Silvia Marcovici, Petru Munteanu and Thomas Christian. She has performed as a soloist and chamber musician in many European countries and is a member of the Accademia dei Cameristi Bari.
From 2018 to 2020 Maarja will be playing in the chamber orchestra Kremerata Baltica, founded by Gidon Kremer. Together with Kremerata Baltica she has had the opportunity to perform in many of the world's leading concert halls and to record for Deutsche Grammophon.
Maarja was also a member of the Saarländisches Staatsorchester in the 2022/2023 season and has performed with Les Dissonances, the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, the Nuremberg State Theatre, the Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra, the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra and others.
