Gianmaria Nobile was born in Savona, Italy, in 1999 and received his first music lessons at the age of five.

After basic studies in Sassari (Sardinia, Italy) with Maestra Anna Pugliese and in Brussels (Belgium) with Prof. Arman Simonyan, he completed his studies at the Royal Brussels Conservatory in the class of Prof. Valery Oistrakh and Prof. Tony Nys. After obtaining his Bachelor's degree in Belgium, he moved to Basel (Switzerland), where he completed his Master's degree in June 2023 at the Basel Academy of Music under the direction of Prof. Geneviève Strosser. Gianmaria is currently studying for a master's degree in viola with Prof Andreas Willwohl in Nuremberg.

During his undergraduate studies, he had the opportunity to mature as an orchestral musician thanks to his professional experience with the Belgian Zomeropera Orkest. After moving to Switzerland in 2021, he joined the Lucerne Contemporary Orchestra as an academy member, auditioned with the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie and the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester, of which he is a member, and played under the baton of renowned conductors such as Teodor Currentzis, Jukka-Pekka Saraste, Dmitri Slobodeniouk, Daniel Harding, Jakub Hrusa and, most recently, Kirill Petrenko. Professionally, he spent a year as an academy member of the Basel Symphony Orchestra and a month as a guest player with the Staatskapelle Dresden. He is also an academy member of the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra.
