News Flute class successes

The class of Prof Alice Morzenti announces the following achievements: The flutist Alice Lessmann has been appointed "Instrumental Ambassador" of the Benedetti Foundation (UK). Filippo Giordano was successful in the audition for the "Junge Staatsphilharmonie" of the Nuremberg State Theatre and was selected for the piccolo and flute positions. Congratulations!

Alice Leßman becomes Instrumental Ambassador of the Benedetti Foundation (UK)

The Benedetti Foundation Ambassador Programme supports students who wish to develop their practical and musical teaching and workshop skills, develop a passion for performance and gain a deeper insight into all areas of the music and education communities.

The Benedetti Foundation was founded in 2019 by violinist and music educator Nicola Benedetti. With its numerous musical events, it enables broad and equal participation and thus unites all those who value music as an integral part of lifelong learning.

Alice Leßmann was born in Carpi (Italy) in 1997. After completing her Bachelor's degree at the Vecchi-Tonelli Conservatory in Modena, she moved to our university, where she completed her Master's degree with Prof Alice Morzenti this semester.

She has won numerous prizes at important national and international competitions, including 1st prize at the Italian competitions "Giuseppe Alberghini" in Bologna and "Laszlo Spezzaferri" in Verona. She also achieved 2nd place at the international "Crescendo competition" in Padova (Italy). She has already worked with several orchestras, including as a substitute with the Bavarian Police Orchestra, as 1st flute with the youth orchestra "Orchestra giovanile della via Emilia", as 1st flute with the European ESYO Orchestra and as a trainee with the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Coburg State Theatre and the Würzburg Philharmonic Orchestra.

Filippo Giordano receives piccolo and flute position in the Junge Staatsphilharmonie

The Junge Staatsphilharmonie is the youth orchestra of the Nuremberg State Theatre, founded by Joana Mallwitz. Throughout the season, young people from the metropolitan region aged between 14 and 19 meet for several rehearsal phases at the State Theatre and work on the repertoire for the planned concerts in vocal rehearsals with teachers from the ranks of the State Philharmonic Orchestra and in tutti rehearsals.

Roland Böer, Chief Conductor of the Staatsphilharmonie Nürnberg since September 2023, is delighted to continue his work with the Junge Staatsphilharmonie.

Filippo was a pre-college student at the Conservatorio Cantelli in Novara (Italy). He has been studying in the class of Prof. Alice Morzenti as a Bachelor student since winter term 2023/24.
