Three top ensembles from Nuremberg University of Music performed in the atrium of the Nuremberg Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Saturday 8 February. The occasion was the prizewinners' concert of the chamber music competition organised by the Nuremberg University of Music in cooperation with the IHK Kulturstiftung and the Mozart Verein 1829 e.V..
The competition took place on 1 February in the Chamber Music Hall. A total of twelve ensembles competed in the three categories of wind, string and piano chamber music. The choice of the twenty-minute programme was basically free, with the exception of the requirement to perform a work by W.A. Mozart in the piano chamber music category. The repertoire was correspondingly wide. From Mendelssohn and Poulenc to contemporary music by Anze Rozman, the ensembles demonstrated their abilities.
The jury, consisting of Prof Herwig Zack, Daniela Koch, Prof Evgenia Rubinova, Uwe Mitsching and Prof Dorian Keilhack (chairman), did not have an easy decision to make. But in the end, the three winning ensembles were chosen by the jury.
We would like to congratulate all the winners and thank the Mozartverein 1829 e.V. and the IHK Kulturstiftung for this fantastic funding opportunity for our students!
