After the successful start last May, the second Campus Day took place last Saturday, 24 February. The warm-up - in the truest sense of the word - was the body percussion workshop with Werner Treiber. Under the motto "Let your body become a musical instrument! the participants experienced and tried out the connections between pulse, subdivisions and rhythm on their own bodies.
With Prof. Toni Hinterholzinger they then went into the depths of the university, into the recording studio. The focus here was on creative sound design: what exactly happens in a recording studio, how do professional music productions work and how do listeners become listeners? To this end, the students recorded a soundscape of sustained tones, which was then underlaid with a current recording studio production. The sonically colourful result, in the form of a one-minute audio file, was one of two surprises at the end of the concert.
The third workshop, like the first, was a physical and practical one without instruments. Marie-Claire Bär Le Corre explored the world of historical dance with the young students. The motto was: minuet, gavotte, bourrée or contredanse - may I present? Two of the dances developed in the workshop were performed by the young students together with Marie-Claire Bär Le Corre as the second surprise of the concert for the enthusiastic audience.
The 2nd Campus Day ended with an impressive concert by the young students. Heinrich Kremer from the class of Prof. Markus Wagner, Michael Hernek from the class of Prof. Stefan Tischler, Marit Zimmermann from the class of Prof. Günter Voit, Alla Savchenko from the class of Prof. Lilo Kraus, Aaron Fischer von Mollard from the class of Prof. Christoph Braun, Konstantin Demydas from the class of Prof. Markus Wagner. Christoph Braun, Konstantin Demydas from the class of Prof. Daniel Gaede, Mathilda Kaufmann from the class of Prof. Christoph Braun, Mathilda Kaufmann from the class of Prof. Stefan Tischler and Michael Hernek from the class of Prof. Stefan Tischler played with virtuosity and musical depth. Daniel Gaede, Mathilda Kaufmann from the class of Björn Colell, Sina Martens and Isabella Casino from the class of Prof. Dr Reto Kuppel, Emilia Sarau from the classes of Prof. Jeremias Schwarzer and Friederike Vollert, Eva Hofmann from the class of Prof. Jakob Spahn and Naemi Zimmermann from the class of Prof. Dr Aurelia Vişovan. The young students were accompanied by Olena Savchenko, Lin Lin Fan, Dmitry Rodionov and Dr Costin Filipoiu in a varied and stylistically diverse programme.
