The festival runs until 11 May. Come and see!

The Young Lions on Stage Festival 2024 once again offers students from the Jazz Department at Nuremberg University of Music (NUM) a great platform to exchange musical ideas and to present interesting musical constellations and projects to the audience in various concerts at the Jazzstudio Nuremberg and the Kulturwerkstatt Auf AEG.

Traditionally, the festival was opened by the NUM Big Band in a concert at the AEG on 23 April. The programme included compositions by Canadian trumpeter Kenny Wheeler, Norwegian trombonist Helge Sunde and music by Sammy Nestico (USA), one of the most influential composers and arrangers of big band jazz.

On 30 April, the workshop ensemble of NUM, led by composer and saxophonist Charlotte Greve - this year's Artist in Residence at the Festival - was a guest at the AEG. In the second part of the concert, Charlotte Greve performed with her New York Trio.

Concerts with student ensembles from the jazz department of the NUM will take place on other days until 11 May at the Jazzstudio Nuremberg.
