News Success Yunfei Bai becomes 2nd concertmaster at the Braunschweig State Theatre

After Yunfei Bai, a former graduate of Prof. Daniel Gaede's masterclass, recently won a position as concertmaster with the Göttinger Symphoniker, he has once again passed the audition and will be engaged as 2nd concertmaster of the Staatstheater Braunschweig from September this year. Congratulations!

Violinist Yunfei Bai was born in China in 1993. He began his studies in 2004 with Prof. Tan Liwei at the affiliated primary school of the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing and graduated with a Bachelor's degree from the Central Conservatory of Music in 2016. In 2018, he continued his studies with Pierre Amoyal at the Mozarteum Salzburg in the Master's programme. From 2020 to 2023, he studied in the Master Class with Prof Daniel Gaede.

From 2020 to 2023, Yunfei Bai worked as an assistant in Prof Daniel Gaede's violin class at the Nuremberg University of Music. He attended masterclasses with Ivry Gitlis, Augustin Dumay, Boris Kuschnir, Schlomo Mintz, Midori Goto and Ilja Kaler, among others.

Yunfei Bai has already performed as concertmaster: from 2013 to 2016 he was 1st concertmaster of the China Youth Orchestra, in 2015 2nd concertmaster under the direction of Valery Gergiev with the Marinsky Theatre Symphony Orchestra/China Youth Symphony, in 2016 1st concertmaster of the Zhejiang International Music Festival Orchestra, in 2016-2018 1st concertmaster of the China Baroque Strings Orchestra, in 2017-2019 1st concertmaster of the China EOS Symphony Orchestra.  Since September 2023 he has held the position of 1st concertmaster (temporary contract) with the Neubrandenburg Philharmonic Orchestra, and since January 2024 he has been concertmaster of the Göttingen Symphony Orchestra.

As a soloist, he has performed with the China Inner Mongolia Symphony Orchestra, the China Youth Symphony Orchestra and the Hof Symphony Orchestra, among others.
